OEM easy installation

    • Boards with 16MB flash
  1. Rename the firmware to openwrt.bin
    • mirror 1: mtd-oem-asl-26555.tar.gz
    • mirror 2: http://www.mediafire.com/download/8q9a75xi9w2t4o3/mtd
  2. Copy openwrt.bin and mtd to a FAT32 formatted USB pendrive
  3. Enter via telnet to the router and execute
  4. Telnet to 192.168.1.1 and set a root password, or browse to http://192.168.1.1 if LuCI is installed.

Known issues:

  1. Stock firmware v2.0.0.37B_ES (Movistar España): Before flashing OpenWRT upgrade/downgrade to version v2.0.0.30B_ES. Access to 192.168.1.1:8000 > Maintenance > Firmware update > Wait until reboot.

OEM installation using the TFTP method

→ generic.flashing.tftp

    • Boards with 16MB flash
  • Connect the serialTTL cable to interact with uBoot for loading the firmware via tftp.
  • Start a TFTP server in your PC. Copy the firmware to the server.
  • Set the IP at your pc to , and connect the ethernet cable to the router.
  • Power on the router and immediately press the 2 key at the serial console. Say yes for flashing the new firmware.

Known issues: The flash memory is divided into 2 regions. This may cause troubles with openwrt. Fix it from uboot command line (choose option 4):

Upgrading OpenWrt

→ generic.sysupgrade

If you have already installed OpenWrt and like to reflash for e.g. upgrading to a new OpenWrt version you can upgrade using the mtd command line tool. It is important that you put the firmware image into the ramdisk (/tmp) before you start flashing.
